Qatar is a regulated country regarding tourist guides, which means that everyone who wants to work in this field needs to posses a license. To obtain a tourist guide license one needs to finish training which includes knowledge part on the on-line platform, as well as the practical part lasting 10 days through which guiding skills and techniques are developed. After the training, one needs to pass the practical assessment, and if passed a tourist guide license is issued for a one-year period.
In the last few years our consultant Ivana Ćuruvija works for the Ministry of tourism of Qatar delivering tourist guide training. Her engagement includes process of planning, preparation and review of some training materials, as well as the process of delivering training and process of evaluation. All those activities had a culmination last year when Qatar was getting ready to welcome World Cup FIFA 2022. For that reason, at the beginning of last year Ivana was involved in creating a team of trainers with whom she would work on realization of many trainings for tourist guides. Ivana and her team trained over 350 participants till the beginning of November 2022. As all the activities were realized in exceptional level, and the feedback from the participants were very positive, the Ministry decided to thank Ivana and her team in a special way.
